Twin Cities Wine Education presents a new series of great classes to build your wine confidence and spark vino curiosity!
There are a handful of topics that can help you understand every wine in the world. They include oak, acidity, body, terroir, elevation, and climate. Through our Foundations of Wine series, you will become an expert on these particular topics and how they integrate into the wines you purchase.
There are eight topics in the Foundations Series: Acidity, Oak, Tannin, Age, Soil, Elevation, Climate, and Old vs. New World. Graduates of all eight classes get a special package including a copy of The Wine Bible by Karen MacNeil and gift cards to local fine wine shops.
In this class, we’ll explore the impact of climate and temperature on the world of wine
What factors changes in cool climates vs. warm climates?
How can you spot a warmer climate wine in a blind tasting?
How do the recent fires in California and Oregon impact the wine?
How is global warming impacting the world of wine?
What particular grape varieties need specific climate circumstances, and which do not?
What are the most extreme climates for making fine wine?
Why can’t we grow Chardonnay in Minnesota?
… and so much more!
All of these questions and more will be addressed, while we taste through five great wines to help emphasize the points. You will leave with a clear understanding of the role of climate and temperature in wine quality, helping YOU get more bang for the buck with all of your future wine purchases!
Class starts at 6 pm sharp. Hope to see you there!
