The wine of Portugal are some of the most exciting in the world today, with an amazing range now being exported from this beautiful country. And Portugal has quickly risen to the top of the list of tourists, exploring the amazing cities of Porto and Lisbon, the countryside of the interior, and of course the UNESCO Heritage Site that is the historic Douro River Valley.

Join us for a special night with one of the world’s top experts on Portuguese wines, Rui Abecassis, founder and owner of Obrigado Imports (the Portuguese arm of Olé Imports). 

We will discuss a wide range of topics, from the history of Portuguese wines to the modern movements of key producers. Of course, joining in the discussion will be and outstanding tasting of incredibly delicious wines.

Jason Kallsen is Minnesota’s most experienced wine educator, with over two decades of experience teaching the subject. A Certifed Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, plus a Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators, Jason has taught over 30,000 students since starting in the wine business in the early 1990s. He’s appeared in local, national, and international media including pairing wine with classical music on an interationally broadcasted edition of Performance Today. His style is well known to be accurate but unpretentious, detailed yet not overwhelming.

We aim to start all classees on time, please arrive a touch early.- No meals are served at the classees unless specificed.- For classes at North Loop Wine and Spirits, parking is generally available for free with a permit from the store but is not guaranteed.
